Lost Continent Found in Indian Ocean

Lion Mountain, in southeast Mauritius.Located 1200 miles east off the coast of Africa lies a tourist destination known as Mauritius. The island was formed more than 9 million years ago from cooling lava. But recently grains of sand were found that are between 660 million to 2 billion years old. Scientist believe that these grains came from an island that has now disappeared, they also believe that islands like Mauritius hold lots of evidence of old land forms. They believe that as this island was forming, a land form above it was drowning. As they collided, the old island left a bit of it's mark on the new island.  Although there is not enough evidence to support this claim, they are still doing more research. This discovery is a bit disturbing because we know more about the geography of mars than our own oceans.
