Anti-Abortion Lawmakers Take on Planed Parenthood
The billion dollar charity is working on protecting it's image has it take some heavy fire from critics. The critics say that the nation's largest abortion provider is a rogue organization that misuses federal money. Two congress men form Tennessee say the money goes all to the abortions. $542 million came from the government ans went to Planed Parenthood. The president of Planned Parenthood says that if bills are passed to cut the money they receive would harm those who rely on the nonprofit for healthcare. The whole issue is being fueled by the fact that it is the nation's largest abortion provider but it's also a major source of health care for women. The nonprofit organization preformed about about 334,00 abortions in it's 750 clinics nationwide. they also provided 10.8 million healthcare services in 2011. A third of those went to contraception, 41% were for sexually transmitted infection tests, and 3% were abortions. And this week this week the charity is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision on abortion. A poll from laster says that 51% say pro-life and 41% say pro choice.

Giant Squid Footage
For the first time researchers have caught a giant squid in it's natural habitat on video. It was discovered by one of the 100 Discovery Channels dives in the Pacific last summer and it can be seen on its next air on January 27. The 9 foot invertebrate was found in the east waters of the Chichi Islands, 600 miles south of Tokyo. From the footage scientists found that the squid was missing the it's two longest tentacles. Not much is known about these creatures because they live on the ocean floor, and we are still unable to get down there for long periods of time. At 2,100 feet underneath the water surface the submarine that dove down left bait for whatever would come get it. And then suddenly the giant squid came out of the darkness, wrapped its long tentacles around the bait. It stayed still, feeding, for 20 minutes and then disappeared.
