8 Years Later, Found Guilty.
It took 8 years and one hour to finally convict Drew Peterson of the death of his 3rd wife. It took the Jury 2 days to come to a verdict of the death of his 3rd wife and he is also charged with the disappearance of his second wife. Peterson will face prison for up to 60 years, and his sentencing will be held in November. Before the jury reached a verdict, they sent a note to the Judge asking what the meaning of the word "unanimous." The judge replied with a note explaining the meaning, and after only an hour of further discussion they game to a guilty conclusion. This was the first kind of a trial that Illinois has had, it was the first case where the juror's had nothing really to listen to and depend on other than hearsay. Hearsay is information told by a wittiness that is not based on the wittiness own knowledge. It may have been a "he said, she said" kind of a case, but thanks to Drew's Law, it's completely legal and mostly reliable. This was very necessary and he really just needed to go.
